Lewis Hamilton Praises Neymar for Spreading Positivity After Barcelona Victory Post

Lewis Hamilton has revealed the moment Neymar mirrored his famous ‘REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE’ caption gave him genuine joy. The seven-time world champion first posted those words beneath a podium celebration image following his stunning victory at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix — his first win in 686 days and his maiden triumph for Ferrari since joining the Scuderia at the start of 2025. That phrase clearly travelled far beyond the paddock.

Lewis Hamilton and Neymar Share a Message That Went Worldwide

After sitting out Brazil’s opening two matches at the 2026 World Cup, Neymar made his long-awaited international comeback during the closing stages of Brazil’s final group stage clash against Scotland on Wednesday — his first appearance for the Seleção since tearing his ACL against Uruguay back in October 2023. To mark the occasion, he used Hamilton’s exact caption on his own post. Hamilton responded with a single, loaded word: “ALWAYS.”

Speaking about the exchange, Hamilton told reporters: “It was really cool to see him post that because I don’t always see people with amazing platforms, like his, really use it for sharing a lot of positivity. In the world we live in right now, we need it more than ever.” He added that knowing his words had reached Brazil and resonated with someone of Neymar’s stature gives him “real happiness” that the message is spreading further than he ever imagined.

Furthermore, Hamilton made clear the pair share a genuine bond. “We message each other often. I’m very thankful for the friendship I have with Neymar. I was just talking about his kids the other day — he’s got beautiful kids,” he said.

Hamilton’s Ferrari Triumph Still Sinking In

Beyond the Neymar connection, Hamilton’s Barcelona win clearly struck deep on a personal level too. His victory ended a drought of 686 days without a race win — a difficult stretch that included a debut season at Ferrari in 2025 where he failed to register a single podium and frequently criticised his own driving. Formula 1’s official coverage captured the raw emotion of that moment in Spain, and it seems the aftermath was equally overwhelming.

“People wonder what you do after you win a race and with the first grand prix win for Ferrari, I got back home and I spent hours on the couch just reposting all these beautiful stories and videos that I saw, and messages from people,” Hamilton explained. “It was really overwhelming. Really, really overwhelming to experience it.” He reposted countless fan reactions to the victory — a small but telling gesture that shows just how much that win meant to the 40-year-old.

As Hamilton now heads towards the Austrian Grand Prix, the momentum — on and off the track — feels very much with him.
