Allycia Hellen Rodrigues Returns Stronger for the Biggest Fight of Her Career

Allycia Hellen Rodrigues returns stronger and more complete than ever as she prepares to defend the ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai World Title on Friday, 19 June. The main event of ONE Championship’s Inner Circle 19 streams live from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, where Rodrigues faces ONE Women’s Atomweight Kickboxing World Champion Phetjeeja Lukjaoporongtom in a clash that has already had fight fans salivating.

Allycia Hellen Rodrigues Returns Stronger After Injury Setback

This one was supposed to happen at ONE Fight Night 41 back in March. Injuries wrecked those plans — both fighters had to step away and rebuild. Rodrigues suffered severe inflammation in both legs, bad enough that running and kicking were completely off the table. She spent six weeks in recovery, navigating medication and physical therapy before she could even think about throwing a strike again.

“I had to take about a month and a half off, along with medication and physical therapy, to recover,” Rodrigues explained. “I believe it was caused by training itself.”

Crucially, though, Rodrigues didn’t just come back — she came back sharper. The extra time off allowed her to reassemble her full team around her, something that wasn’t possible heading into the original camp. That collective firepower has clearly made a difference.

Clinch Queen Targets Fifth Title Defence and MMA Debut

Rodrigues has long ruled women’s atomweight Muay Thai through her elite clinch work, and she enters this rematch camp convinced she has added yet another layer to her game. She has studied the limited footage of Phetjeeja operating under full Muay Thai rules and sees a boxing-heavy approach she has specifically tailored her preparation to counter.

“I was already feeling very good during the first training camp, but now I feel even better and more prepared,” she said. “I feel much more complete than her in Muay Thai, especially in the clinch game.”

Furthermore, a successful night in Bangkok would mark her fifth successful title defence — a landmark achievement in what has already been one of the most dominant reigns women’s striking has produced. Beyond that, Rodrigues has her sights set on an entirely new frontier.

“After this fight, my focus will return to MMA. I believe my next fight will be my MMA debut,” she revealed. “I’m not in a hurry to fight the best right away. I want to gain experience with each fight until I feel ready.”

Two fighters. Two injury comebacks. One massive main event. Rodrigues is ready — and she looks dangerous.
