The Michael Olise transfer saga is dead before it even began. Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has drawn a line in the sand, telling Real Madrid in no uncertain terms that the French winger is going absolutely nowhere this summer. Consider the door not just closed — bolted shut.
Michael Olise Transfer Off the Table as Bayern Lay Down the Law
Speaking to Bild, Hainer was refreshingly blunt when addressing reported interest from the Spanish giants: “Michael Olise is a Bayern Munich player who still has a long-term contract — and we are not a club that sells players. If Florentino Pérez wants to send us an offer — which hasn’t happened yet — he can save himself the trouble.” Hard to misread that one.
The context matters here. Florentino Pérez, freshly re-elected as Real Madrid president on Sunday, had made a bold pledge during his campaign — he would shatter the club’s transfer record by splashing €150m on a marquee ‘Galactico’ signing for the Bernabéu. Reports quickly pointed to Olise as the man Pérez had his eye on. Bayern, clearly, aren’t remotely interested in entertaining that conversation.
Why Bayern Will Never Willingly Sell Olise
Honestly, you can see why. Olise, 24, arrived in Munich from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2024 and has been nothing short of sensational. He racked up 15 goals and 21 assists across 32 Bundesliga matches as Bayern retained their league title — numbers that would make any club’s hierarchy grip their contract tighter. He runs until June 2029, by the way. There is no leverage here for Madrid whatsoever.
Furthermore, the individual honours followed the collective glory. Olise claimed the Bundesliga Player of the Season award and earned a place in the Champions League team of the season, contributing five goals and seven assists across 13 European appearances. That is a player operating at the very peak of his powers.
It’s also worth noting that Olise has attracted interest from elsewhere in Europe too, so Bayern’s firm stance sends a message to the entire continent, not just Madrid.
Meanwhile, Olise has bigger things on his mind right now. He is currently in training with France ahead of what will be his debut World Cup. Les Bleus kick things off on 16 June against Senegal. Real Madrid’s Galactico hunt will have to look elsewhere — Bayern simply aren’t selling.
