Transfer Rumours: PSG Plot Bid for Liverpool Target Yan Diomande

The summer transfer window is heating up fast, and Paris Saint-Germain are threatening to hijack Liverpool’s pursuit of RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande. According to BILD, PSG are preparing to submit an opening bid for the 19-year-old Ivory Coast international, who is currently lighting up the FIFA World Cup. Liverpool had already seen a €100 million offer swatted away by Leipzig, who are demanding well in excess of €130 million. Crucially, PSG have been in direct contact with Diomande’s representatives over personal terms for several weeks — and that gives them a real edge in this race.

Liverpool Transfer Targets: Diomande Pursuit Complicated as Nmecha Battle Emerges

Liverpool’s summer shopping list is growing, and so is the competition. Alongside the Diomande saga, the Reds have entered the race for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha, with TEAMtalk reporting that Manchester United are also in the frame. The 25-year-old former Manchester City man signed a new Dortmund deal earlier this year, yet he is reportedly open to returning to England. Several Premier League clubs are keeping a close eye on him, and a fee of around €50 million could be enough to bring Dortmund to the table.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are monitoring Liverpool playmaker Florian Wirtz, with Reds boss Xabi Alonso reportedly keen on reuniting with the Germany international he worked with so closely at Bayer Leverkusen. Any Chelsea approach, however, hinges on the future of Enzo Fernández, who is attracting serious interest from Real Madrid. Liverpool would only sanction Wirtz’s departure if the offer was genuinely significant. For more on PSG’s busy window, check out our piece on PSG eyeing Michael Olise as Arsenal chase Nico Williams.

Woltemade Available, Spurs Move on Mateus Fernandes, and More Deadline Drama

Newcastle United forward Nick Woltemade is attracting attention from Atlético Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, and Aston Villa, per AS. The 24-year-old Germany international struggled in his debut Premier League season, but Newcastle are still holding firm at around €65 million. His club future will reportedly be addressed once his World Cup involvement concludes.

Elsewhere, Tottenham Hotspur appear to have stolen a march on Manchester United and PSG in the pursuit of West Ham United midfielder Mateus Fernandes. Journalist Matteo Moretto reports that Spurs have already initiated concrete talks over personal terms with the 21-year-old, though no official bid has yet landed at the London Stadium. Additionally, Spurs had a £75 million offer rejected by Newcastle for Sandro Tonali.

In other business: Manchester City’s move for Elliot Anderson could set off a chain reaction ending with Inter Milan’s Davide Frattesi joining Nottingham Forest and Liverpool’s Curtis Jones heading to the San Siro, per Gazzetta dello Sport. Inter Miami have formally agreed terms to sign Casemiro from Manchester United. Bayern Munich are working to extend Michael Olise’s contract amid Real Madrid links. Juventus are willing to sell Jonathan David for around £26 million, with Randal Kolo Muani and Alexander Sørloth also on their striker shortlist. And Bayer Leverkusen are already seeking a replacement for Alejandro Grimaldo, who looks set to join Atlético Madrid.
